Donald Trump tries to use Usain Bolt's respect for the US National anthem to slam the NFL team but it backfires
US President Donald Trump who has expressed his displeasure at NFL players 'taking the knee' during the national anthem, tried to use Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt to buttress his point about patriotism but it backfired on him.
Trump tweeted this five-year-old video of Usain Bolt cutting a LIVE interview short, when the US National anthem started to play, during the London 2012 Summer Olympics, so that he could stand for the anthem. But this only caused an outrage. See the video and some of the angry tweets below:
Even Usain Bolt from Jamaica, one of the greatest runners and athletes of all time, showed RESPECT for our National Anthem! ????pic.twitter.com/zkenuAP9RS— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 27, 2017
